Dow Chemical Research and Development Internship: Catalyst Development for Ethylene Epoxidation in Zeeland, Netherlands
Location - Netherlands, Terneuzen
TheDow Chemical Companyis offering great business career opportunities in a global and international environment. We are looking for an ambitious Student (m/f) supporting our business who is interested in doing an Internship onCatalyst development for ethylene epoxidation using high through put experimentation.
For continuous improvement of current processes and development of new processes we investigate the Epoxidation of ethylene to ethylene Oxide.
The catalyst is based on three components:
1) metallic silver
3) promoters added in ppm level.
These three components determine the final catalytic active sites and the rate of deactivation.
In this project we would like to evaluate the impact of synthesis conditions on the performance and deactivation of EO catalysts.
Synthesis of model EO catalysts
Characterization with SEM, chemisorption and other material characterization techniques
Accelerated sintering studies
Catalytic tests using high throughput tools
Main Project skills needed:
Reaction engineering or material science, or chemistry
Interest in catalyst synthesis characterization and testing
You can start between October-December for a period of 3-12 months (exact timing to be discussed). You will be remunerated.
