Job is located in Deer Park, Texas. Deer Park is located approximately 15 miles east of downtown Houston. The Deer Park plant is the largest manufacturer of methacrylic and acrylic monomers in the world.

Schedule is a 9/80 7:00am to 4:30pm M-Th and 7:00-3:30 every other Friday

The Freeport terminal is a large marine facility with the capacity to handle several vessels at once. Marine Terminal boasts six docks comprised of 10 barge berths and three deep water berths, providing a safe location for loading and unloading bulk liquids. Approximately 400 deep-sea vessels and 1,500 barges arrive and depart each year.
Around 70 employees work at Marine Terminal, including this role, Run Plant Engineers, Technicians, Process Operators for marine vessels, and Distribution Operators for rail and truck, as well as EH&amp;S, TICA (Technology Implementation for Competitive Advantage) and Maintenance supporting roles. The Senior Administration role is a vital team member contributing to the success of our Operations.

Key Job Responsibilities :

Performing exposure and risk assessments as a member of globally organized risk assessment teams that are developing Chemical Safety Reports within the framework of the European REACH legislation (REACH = Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals). Dow has successfully registered all substances it manufactures in Europe or imports into Europe by the first REACH registration deadline of November 30, 2010. Also for the second registration deadline ( June 1, 2013) Dow will submit registration dossiers for a large number of substances. As a member of risk assessment teams you will contribute to the development of Chemical Safety Assessments/Reports (CSA/CSR) by performing worker exposure risk assessments (development of Exposure Scenarios; modelling exposure). In addition you will contribute to the conversion of Exposure Scenarios as described in the CSA to the Exposure Scenarios for communication that are attached to Safety Data Sheets (extended SDS). You will also support Dow’s businesses in the correct interpretation and implementation of Exposure Scenarios.

2.    Providing operational support to the local Dow EHS organization as well as product stewardship support to Dow’s businesses.  
A.    In your operational support role (Site Focal Point) you will:
o  Support the EHS organization in all aspects of implementation of IH programs in plants, laboratories and offices;
o  Provide technical knowledge and support for IH evaluation of the work environment and its potential impact on employee health;
o  Train and support local EHS personnel in their execution of IH tasks;

C.   In your Technical Focal point (TFP) role you will:

Requirements:

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
