Dow AgroSciences (DAS) is seeking to fill a software developer role within the Information Technology and Data Analysis (ITDA) function, Software Engineering Group. This role will define and implement software solutions to support scientific research. The successful candidate will enjoy interacting closely with research scientists as well as with other software developers in the design, development and implementation of software solutions including thin and thick client development. The individual will participate in all phases of software development and will have a proven track record of delivery. In addition to software programming skills, the successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to lead projects, ideally within an Agile development environment. The candidate is expected to drive strategic growth within Dow AgroSciences R&D through the use of software tools in support of the creation of novel agricultural biotech products. As part of the application process, there may be a programming assignment.
The position is located in Portland, Oregon.

Minimum BS degree in Computer Science or a Physical Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics) with significant software design and development experience.

Significant experience in developing and delivering server solutions using one of the following: Java or C#.

Significant experience developing with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server and writing stored procedures is a plus.

Significant experience in developing and delivering web-based and thick client solutions using one of the following: Java, C#, HTML5, Flex, or Silverlight.

Preference will be given to candidates having worked in an R&D environment, a demonstrated enthusiasm for solving complex problems, and a demonstrated track record.
