Dow Chemical Manufacturing Operator in Newark, Delaware
We have exciting opportunities for Manufacturing Operators -
Poromerics Conversions Technicians in Newark, DE. The Manufacturing Operator assists in manufacturing rolled goods for the purpose of making polishing pads safely and with high quality. The Conversions Technician works efficiently and on time to meet customer demand.
Will be expected to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) types of PPE such as but not limited to: gloves, safety shoes, and approved safety glasses.
Operating heavy machinery.
Standing, working at machines or tables for extended times.
Moving rolls/ inventory from area to area.
Lifting, carrying, and bending and the knees and waist.
Computer work, printing labels, filling out data in the computer systems.
Some work required manual dexterity and repetitive movements of the upper extremities.
Reading Standard Operating Procedures.
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying degrees of temperatures and humidity.
The roles may be either the evening or night shift. The evening shift is from 2 pm – 10:30 pm, Monday - Friday. The night shift is 10 pm - 6:30 AM, Monday - Saturday morning.
Must be able to work overtime as needed, this includes occasional weekend work.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills are required.
Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
Able to work within an empowered team environment.
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Must be able to climb stairs, bend, squat, push, pull and perform overhead work.
Must be able to:
o Repetitive forward bending at waist 15 reps/1 min
o Repetitive squatting 15 reps/1 minute
o Carry in left & right hands 15 lbs
o Carry in two hands 20 lbs
o Floor to waist 45lbs x 4 reps
o Floor to overhead 25 lbs x 4 reps
o Lifting > 20-30 lb. frequently, lifting 40-50 lb. occasionally
Must have a current, valid US driver’s license.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Previous experience working in a Chemical, industrial, manufacturing or similar environment is preferred, 2 years of experience as an asset.
Experience using SAP.
- A Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
