Dow Chemical Machine Operator in Newark, Delaware
The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting opportunity for a Machine Operator in Newark, DE.
Operate lathe machinery.
Computer use for data entry, MTL, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Logbook, training, non-conforming product, audits, etc.
Operate required testing equipment for product quality.
Monitor product quality according to procedure.
Follow all Dow safety, quality, job, and site policies.
Have a desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills are required.
Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
Able to work within an empowered team environment.
Must have a current, valid US driver's license.
Able to work near moving or mechanical parts, near fumes or airborne particles, and near loud noises.
Able to work at table level and/or overhead level as necessary.
Able to perform task wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: respirators, protective clothing, face masks, goggles, boots, etc.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs, wearing safety gear, working in confined areas, and working in a chemical-manufacturing environment.
Ability to work 2nd/ Evening shift (2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday - Friday).
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Previous experience at Dow.
Preference for at least two (2) years of prior manufacturing experience.
Previous machinery experience.
Previous experience as a lathe operator.
Associate degree or higher, or Four (4) or more years of military training/experience is preferred.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
