Dow Chemical 2017-2018 Campus Graduate - Public Affairs Development Program in Midland, Michigan

The Dow Chemical Company is seeking graduating college seniors and recent graduates (up to two years since graduation date) for the Public Affairs Development Program. Development employees will gain a full understanding of Dow’s communication practices through two yearlong project rotations. Development employees can expect to:

Experienceworking and collaborating on challenging and rewarding projects for a large Fortune 100 company

Explorethe globe through international teams and projects

Expandskills through structured training programs

Exchangeideas with company leaders on day one of joining the company

Challenging work begins on day one with employees interacting with top public affairs leaders on assignments. Projects can range from assisting with marketing communications for Dow’s business units, to creating social media and digital campaigns, to connecting with Dow’s global employees to connecting with the media and reporters. Rotational assignments will begin in Midland, Mich. with options for possible relocation for the second year.

Upon completion of the program, Development employees will be placed in a full time role within the Public Affairs function.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 year university degree in public relations, communications, journalism, advertising, marketing or a related field

  • 2-3 previous internships or work experience in the PR, communications, advertising, or journalism field (preferred)

  • Strong writing skills

  • Leadership capabilities

  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work on a team

  • Creativity and innovation

  • Location flexibility during the program and for permanent position

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0

*A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (US citizen, US Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).
