Responsibilities:

* 
Conduct research towards the development of novel spin on films to support pattern transfer in advanced microelectronic applications.

Responsible for the design, synthesis and development of novel monomers and polymers for potential use in spin on coatings for microlithographic applications. 
* 
Expertise in organic synthesis including heterocyclic chemistry and organic silicon chemistry. 
* 
Define viable synthetic processes for new materials and transfer processes to our Engineering group for scale up.Newly developed synthetic methods need to be capable of delivering materials of sufficiently high purity for use microelectronic applications e.g., low residual contaminants and low metal levels contaminants. 
* 
Participate in scale up transfer with Engineering group and Material Vendors for successful scale up of key material platforms being evaluated at customer sites. 
* 
Perform detailed characterization studies on novel materials as synthesized and as incorporated into fully formulated products. 
* 
Build structure-property relationships between material structure and key thin film properties. 
* 
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research maximizing the use of the scientific literature and working to protect inventions and products through IP filing and monitoring. Write technical reports and memos on project progress.
* 
Supervise technicians, chemists, and engineers.
* 
Work across Global R&amp;D an Engineering organization with sites in North America, Korea and Japan.


Education:

PhD in Chemistry with focus in Organic Chemistry

Must have experience in:
Education or experience in Organic synthesis - Synthesis and characterization of target molecules; Optimization of target molecules to deliver required properties using structure-activity relationships (SAR); Hands on experience in the synthesis of dye molecules; Analytical skills: NMR, IR, UV, HPLC, GPC, GC and LC-MS

The Lead EH&amp;S Product Stewardship Manager, under the direction of the Global EH&amp;S Product Leader, is responsible for achieving the business' product EH&amp;S plan and financial objectives. The successful candidate will provide product safety, regulatory compliance and sustainability leadership within the business to commercial, marketing, research and development and technical services functions.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Enabling product development and commercialization by performing risk assessments to identify EHS issues that may complicate or prevent marketing or manufacturing of new raw materials and products. 
* Define regulatory constraints, safe handling and storage requirements, proper disposal, and shipping classifications for all new materials. 
* Approve or recommend rejection of developmental products and new raw materials based on safety, health, and compliance risks. 
* Develop and communicate risk management alternatives that may include retargeting markets, reformulating products, defining process safety controls, and/or terminating product development.
* Promote product sustainability and user acceptance by working with Toxicology, Sustainability, and Regulatory experts to develop necessary information on toxicity and physical hazards and environmental data.
* Developing and maintaining robust relationships with key customers to enable their product acceptance processes and hazard communication programs. 
* Collaborate with our R&amp;D product teams and customer EHS teams to expedite experimental sampling efforts and user acceptance. 
* Respond to customer requests for product and regulatory information as well as information on our product stewardship management system. 
* Assist customers in understanding forthcoming and existing regulations and their relevance to our products. 
* Balance ingredient disclosure with business confidentiality protection by understanding customer needs and releasing appropriate details. 
* Direct customer interaction is essential so robust people skills are required.
* Implementing the EHS New Material Introduction process that drives regional product development. 
* Assist MSDS authors as part of our hazard communication program to comply with government regulations and meet worldwide customer demands. Define Dangerous Goods (DG) classifications to allow multi-modal transportation. 
* Assist with registration of new chemicals to comply with regional regulations. 
* Assure product regulatory compliance within assigned geographic areas.
* Identifying and monitoring relevant local legislation, regulation and emerging short and long-term trends important to the business.
* Work with the Global EH&amp;S Product Leader to analyze the potential impacts and to plan and carry out an implementation plan to provide a business response. This may include advocacy activity to represent the business interests with external stakeholders (e.g., industry trade associations, regulatory agencies, competitors, customers, etc.).
* Co-developing and maintaining annual global product stewardship plans for our commitment to Responsible Care and company standards.
* Implementing relevant aspects of the global product stewardship plan in a specified geographic area using global and local work processes. 
* Achieve, measure and report to the Global EH&amp;S Product Leader progress on business-specific goals, and the global business product stewardship plan, relevant for the local area.
* Work with Product Stewardship colleagues to assure a consistent, coordinated and comprehensive EH&amp;S for product safety across all geographies where we operate. 
* Work with colleagues in other geographic areas to share expertise, data, and experience in order to gain efficiencies in implementation.
* Adapt global work processes to meet local needs as necessary.
* Coordinate with the local Site Responsible Care Leaders and EH&amp;S responsible people in Integrated Supply Chain to manage the EH&amp;S aspects along the entire supply chain.
