Dow Chemical Seeds Sales Representative - West Texas - Mycogen/PhytoGen in Lubbock, Texas
Dow AgroSciences is currently seeking talented & dynamic individuals to fill open positions for Sales Representatives for the Lubbock Area in West TX for Mycogen Seeds and PhytoGen Cottonseed.
Responsible for the overall management and achievement of a sales plan within a sales territory while exercising independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation of key prospects with the ability of developing relationships with them.
Responsible to recruit, train, develop and motivate an active selling sales force within territory aimed at increasing sales volume. Responsible to identify and build relationships with key larger corn and cotton growers with the intent to help customers understand the hybrids, varieties, and traits offered by Mycogen Seeds and PhytoGen Cottonseed.
Manage current and prospective customers and achieve sales goals in the assigned territory in support of the business strategy and marketing plan.
Manage target accounts and develop understanding for the distributor channel within the assigned territory.
Manage orders to inventory, control returns and assist sellers in collecting outstanding accounts when necessary.
Effectively communicate technical understanding of Mycogen Seeds and PhytoGen Cottonseed commercial product lineup.
Professionally conduct meetings and field days. Gain needed support and materials from marketing and commercial development staffs.
Actively promote marketing programs, provide feedback to marketing on customer response.
Keep abreast of market trends, competitive products, programs and pricing structures. Provide ongoing feedback to marketing and sales staffs.
The ability to operate in close coordination with local seed dealers, and Mycogen Seeds & PhytoGen Cottonseed sales teams.
Facilitate the planting, harvesting and recording of plots in a timely and accurate manner.
Effectively and proactively manage customer service calls and/or complaints.
Communicate regularly with sellers and customers keeping them abreast of new products, product advancements, promotions, feedback from other customers, etc.
Monitor and facilitate movement of product on a limited basis as needed during spring planting.
Develop and monitor territory budgets, control expenses and provide accurate and timely sales forecasts.
Maintain company vehicle and records properly.
Maintain a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.
Perform other duties as required.
Conduct all activities with a high level of professionalism and represent Mycogen Seeds, PhytoGen Cottonseed and Dow AgroSciences each day in a manner that is ethical, respectful and would reflect positively on Mycogen Seeds, PhytoGen Cottonseed and Dow AgroSciences.
Demonstrates leadership and teamwork required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Maintains a valid driver's license and a safe driving record required
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Two or more years of agriculture sales experience within the ag chemical and/or seed industry is preferred.
Strong one-on-one and group presentation skills are preferred.
Strong administrative and organizational skills – deadline oriented is preferred.
Demonstrates technical aptitude preferred.
Understands business and entrepreneurial skills and interests preferred.
Proficiency in computer technology preferred.
Comfortable with risk; accepts individual responsibility and accountability preferred.
Bachelors Degree is Required.
Relevant disciplines are: agronomy, agriculture, business, biology or related sciences field.
