Dow AgroSciences is seeking a Trait Manager to join our Trait Product Development - R&D group. Key job responsibilities will encompass coordinating and carrying out transgenic event characterization and breeding activities across multiple high value projects. The role requires supporting large cross-functional projects that involve diverse teams and geographies.

Typical expectations for this role will include;
* Responsibilities for planning & executing experiments to characterize transgenic events involving field and laboratory components
* Data interpretation and presentation that combine multiple sources of data to make meaningful conclusions
* Thorough report and study design writing, including protocols, SOPs and publishing scientific reports
* Communication & teamwork including the ability to build & connect diverse teams and keep concerned project stakeholders aligned
* Strong technical skills to enable transgenic trait research & development
* Project resource planning and budgeting, including ability to balance priorities and adapt to new/varied projects

This position is located in Indianapolis, IN, USA & will involve limited travel to field sites within and outside US.

* Ph.D. in Plant Genetics/Breeding or related areas like Entomology/Pathology/Agronomy (involving host-plant interactions) with at least 2 years experience (exceptional PhD holders are encouraged)
* MS in same areas as above and with at least 4 or more years experience
* Sound understanding of Molecular Biology including DNA analysis and gene expression methods
* Strong basis in crop breeding techniques and Mendelian genetics
* Knowledge and experience in Statistics and experimental design & analysis, particularly related to field trial design and analysis; database skills are also necessary
* Understanding of transgenic approaches for crop improvement is a plus
* Understanding of quality control/assurance, stewardship and/or regulatory compliance is ideal, along with a basic understanding of the transgenic plant product regulatory processes
* Basic knowledge of the commercial trait landscape and industry would be considered an asset
