The Trait Product Development group of Dow AgroSciences R&D is seeking a skilled and energeticMolecular Biologistto join our research team focused on the development of trait products and transformation technologies. Exceptional organizational aptitude, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential to succeed in the unique culture of this group.

We are seeking to fill a molecular biologist position to support our rapidly growing transgenic event characterization and trait introgression programs. This position is directly involved in generating data driving transgenic trait development decisions and for maintenance of product stewardship. Responsibilities include characterization of transgenic events at the DNA and RNA levels in a high throughput environment, as well as protocol development and method optimization under supervision. Specifically, the candidate will provide DNA/RNA sequence manipulation and characterization, plant sample analyses for DAS key crops, and day-to-day project planning and sample scheduling for the lab. Additionally, the position will require an allocation of time for exploring innovative solutions for continued process improvements.

This position is located in Indianapolis, IN, USA.

* Bachelors with industry experience or Masters in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Plant Biology or a related discipline is required
* Minimum 2 years of research experience is preferred
* Strong knowledge of molecular biology is essential
* The ability to use bioinformatic tools such as those used for primer design and sequence alignment and other nucleic acid-related computer programs is highly desirable Working experience with molecular techniques including Southern blot analysis, Northern blot analysis, expression analysis, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR based methodologies, gene zygosity analysis, gene cloning, and DNA/RNA sequence analysis is advantageous
* Experience with laboratory automation such as liquid handlers is desirable
* Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge in Excel preferredDemonstrated focus on quality and rigorous experimental design is critical for success
* Strong track record of solving challenging technical problems is preferred
* Strong knowledge of statistical analysis of data is helpful
* Exceptional organizational aptitude, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential
* Experience in leading a small team with defined objectives and timelines is advantageous
* Commitment to safety is required
