Title: Biochemical Engineer - Bioprocess R&D
Location: Indiana-Indianapolis
Dow AgroSciences is seeking a Biochemical Engineer for the Fermentation Development Group to enable Dow AgroSciences to deliver against its ambitious growth strategy, especially in Agro-Biotechnology. The successful candidate will work in a small scale fermentation lab securing an efficient use of the existing assets and provide essential data for the development of fermentation based products.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work in a collaborative environment with other biotechnology specialists and technicians, to achieve research goals for fermentation based products.
* Working with senior technical staff and learn how to apply complex data analysis tools.
* Provide experimental reports to communicate with internal collaborators in R&D.
* Assume accountability for managing laboratory fermentation assets for the use of multiple products using different expression systems.
* Become the owner of laboratory SOPs and mentor laboratory technicians in the safe and correct use of equipment.
* Define and track fermentation performance metrics.
* Identify and implement technical innovations that improve asset reliability and performance.

* MS in Biochemical Engineering or related discipline, BS with at least 4 years of experience
* Experience in laboratory-scale fermentation research based on strong knowledge of chemical / biochemical engineering principles
* Good understanding of fermentation equipment operation and maintenance
* A highly interactive operational style, capable to working in multidisciplinary teams
* Experience in leading teams in a complex environment is of advantage
