This position is based within the Dow Water & Process Solutions (DWPS) business and will report to the North American DIRECTOR Services Leader for DWPS. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing routine and special property testing of resin samples in support of Ion Exchange Resin Water and Industrial Processes markets and product development programs. This candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills as teamwork is critical to this role. Due to the nature of the role and the need to respond quickly to customer demands, the candidate must be able to quickly adapt to changes in priorities. Attention to detail is critical and the ability to produce accurate and consistent results is required. Appropriate training and supervision will be provided, as needed, for this position.
Primary responsibilities include:
Ability to work as a successful team member on a multifunctional team to determine priorities, service the customers, and achieve results.
Perform sample analysis for sales service projects including wet chemical analysis of resin physical properties and/or specific applications tests, gather data, calculate results, and write preliminary reports.
Maintain current IER analytical and test equipment and assist in planning, construction, installation, and implementation of new IER tests or testing equipment.
Perform application testing on ion exchange resins for fundamental understanding and in support of development projects.
Prepare solutions required for analysis.
Contact customers to confirm and/or gather information on samples needed to determine testing requirements.
Assist in answering some basic IER analytical questions from sales managers, distributors, customers.
Participate in safety programs.
Minimal travel (<5%) in support of test method alignment, key accounts, or special projects. Develop relationships/partnerships with customers and professional organizations.

2 or more experience with laboratory and analytical chemistry required.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills are required.
Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Must be able to willing and able to work in such environments wearing safety equipment, such as respirators, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
Must be able to willing and able to work in such environments with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
Must be able to willing and able to work in such environments working in tight or closed-in spaces.
Must be willing and able to climb stairs/ladders and working high off the ground.
Must be willing and able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
Associate’s degree in relevant field (Chemistry)/4 years military experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred.
