Dow Chemical Site Logistics Coordinator in Burley, Idaho

The Dow Chemical Companyhas an exciting job opportunity as aLogistics Activity CoordinatorinBurley, ID. The Logistics Activity Coordinator is integral to supporting the Burley STYROFOAM Manufacturing Facility. This position requires precise documentation and record keeping in accordance to ISO quality systems.

Responsibilities:

• Be aware of events that affect resource availability

• Communicate with carriers and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to ensure orders are met

• Communicate changes to expected load schedule (Ex: When a truck/rail car will be late, change in predicted product loads, change in loading plans, change in clearing schedules) Communicate schedule needs to plant personnel and work group - includes truck, rail, and packaged goods

• Execute Truck/Rail Shipping

• Prioritize shipments

• Perform in plant rail fleet management

• Work with Rail Fleet Administrator to coordinate and schedule maintenance on rail fleet

• Review and coordinate material inventory control

• Perform daily schedule troubleshooting

• Manage CSR and carrier issues

• Operate as the carrier interface

• Manage exceptions

• Review product availability with planners

• Manage Quality Notification (QN) response

• Perform end of month closing

• Manage Pre-Loaded car inventory

• Manage site logistics needs and make adjustments around rail outages

• Look ahead and plan for product and plant outages

• Shift customer orders based on maintenance needs

• Coordinate RUSH orders or special requests

• Participate in various meetings to align with business needs

• Be available and perform on call/after-hours troubleshooting

• Assist with various site initiatives

• Perform product supply drills

• Compile data and perform yearly environmental and government reporting

• Record inbound railcars

• Act as a second set of eyes for data entry

• Meet record retention requirements for railcar files including: C of A's for raw materials and finished products and Bill of Ladings (BOLs)

• Manage 1st in/1st out

• Coordinate Rail moves

• Receive raw materials

• Perform RPM follow up and response for rail

• Back up fellow schedulers as needed

• Inventory Data Management responsibilities including:

• Manage site logistics inventory (trucks, railcars, etc)

• Perform End of Month reconciliation on inventory that belongs to site logistics

• Participate in stock take audits.

• Work with PDA to investigate inventory discrepancies.

• Coordinate and provide direction for daily activities with logistics personnel.

• loading/unloading shipments as needed

• Operator and maintain Fork Track and associated equipment as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Strong initiative and the ability to prioritize work and multi-task is necessary.

• General knowledge of their organization’s vision, goals and strategy related to Operations, EH&S and Quality

• Excellent verbal and written skills are required, and must be able to communicate and relate well to all levels internal and external to the company in a culturally diverse business environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Good interpersonal skills are required.

• Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.

• Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.

• A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

• Must be able to willing and able to work in such environments wearing safety equipment, such as respirators, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.

• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

• Self-motivated and a strong and flexible team player working in support of the STYROFOAM Manufacturing Facility.

• Excellent administrative, time management, prioritization and organizational skills are required.

• Possess a professional work ethic, and a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written skills are required, and must be able to communicate and relate well to all levels internal and external to the company in a culturally diverse business environment.

• 2 years of experience working with SAP

• 2 years of warehousing and logistics experience

Education:

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
